May 2008 - KMLI welcomes new Krav Maga Instructor Rosannaa Musso. Rosanna is certified by Krav Maga Worldwide (KMWW) and the Krav Maga Association of America (KMAA) and has trained extensively under U.S. Chief Instructor Darren Levine. Rosanna is certified to teach Levels 1 - 4, and will be testing for her Brown belt in August 2008! February 2008 - KMLI was invited to do a KRAV MAGA demo at the Mid-Island Y in Plainview. September 2007 - The Sid Jacobson JCC (East Hills, NY) contracted with KMLI to run a 6-week Introduction to Krav Maga Program July 2007 - Christine Palladino joins the KMLI teaching staff as the KOMBAT KIDz instructor. June 2007 - Michael Blitz was invited to do a demonstration of Krav Maga for Fitness at the Book Expo America convention at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. The demo was to promote the book Everything Krav Maga by Tina Angelotti. Tina's book is about the connections between Krav and serious fitness training, and the publisher, Adams Media, asked Michael to provide a 30 minute demo at the convention. In view of hundreds of browsers (the Book Expo features hundreds of publishers and authors, and tens of thousands of new books) Michael and Assaf Gal--who was a terrific demo-partner--showed a variety of kicks, hand-strikes, striking combinations, and knife defenses. April 2007 - KMLI was a featured sponsor of WBLI radio's Long Island Idol Contest at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville. (see www.WBLI.com and go the link about LI Idol). March 2007: Michael Blitz was invited to speak at John Jay College of Criminal Justice about "Self-defense, and the Morality of the Use of Force." workshops for adults, teens, and young children to raise awareness
about personal safety, self-defense and fitness. These events are
always well attended, often with parents, teachers, and children
looking on. Participants learn about personal safety and awareness, as
well as basic defenses against chokes, punches, and other kinds of
attacks.

Chief Instructor Michael Blitz was invited to New Zealand to train NZ
Naval Security officers and security personel from ArmourGuard (NZ's
largest private security agency) in basic Krav Maga. In addition, in
response to a series of violent incidents occurring between students
and staff, Michael was invited to train a large group of teachers at
the McClaren Intermediate School in NZ. While he was in NZ,
Michael was also interviewed by Linda Clarke on NZ's National Public
Radio and by Diane Wichtel of the magazine "The Listener" about his
book on Arnold Schwarzenegger ( Why Arnold Matters: the Rise of a
Cultural Icon ) published in 2004. The article will appear in early
March 2005.

Chief
Instructor Michael Blitz was invited back to New Zealand to train
ArmourGuard security officers in Auckland and Christchurch as well as
security officers from the Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa Tognarewa) in
Wellington. In addition, Michael was guest speaker at an Auckland
meeting of security managers from throughout the country.
